Free & Reduced Lunch Families, Check your mailbox for $120 EBT Cards
The Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (Iowa HHS) and Department of Education (Department) were approved for the Summer 2023 Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT). If your son or daughter was enrolled in an Iowa Public School during the 2022-23 School Year and they were eligible for free and reduced-price meals, then your student will receive $120 ($40 per month for the summer) for the use of purchasing food. Please be on the lookout for a mailing from the Iowa Department of Health & Human Services this week. Students and families may use their benefits to purchase eligible food items anywhere SNAP EBT cards are accepted (see parent/guardian FAQ linked below for additional details). Funds will be mailed to student households via a new P-EBT card.
If you do not receive a card in the mail by Wednesday, October 4th and you feel you were eligible for a card, you must call 515-420-6048 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. You must call and speak with a representative before 4:30 p.m. on 10/31/23. Any inquiries received after this date will not be accepted. Do not contact the school district about the status of your card, they are not the distributors of these funds and do not have access to grant these funds.
